I know, I know, I'm late! Didnt have time to go before today! This place is Amazing. Food is simple yet awsome. Staff are devoted. The place is right on the downtown mainstream street. Please have a reservation, its very popular yet a bit small. Sake, beer.. Not a Ramen place but there are some available, look at my photo..that one was yummy. Enjoy!!

Food was amazing, restaurant was cozy and service was great. No reservations are taken for groups smaller than 6 but recommend showing up before 7:30 or after 9:30 to avoid lineups. The fried chicken is a must.

Amazing place, the food was very good and service we perfect. We particularly liked the salmon in miso skewers and the marinated quail eggs. Will come back on our next visit for sure!

The salmon was out of this world but after that everything else was underwhelming and kind of pricy. The sake was really good though !

The food was really good. The price is expensive, I think this place use high quality ingredients to serve us, thats why the price is too expensive. I will come back here and absolutely recommended for everyone who wants to enjoy delicious food.

The place is small. The sharing tapas are small as well. Food is unique but to be honest will not make me come back. They are not equipped for kids and I don’t think they feel confortable having kids. They didn’t have warm sake in a cold rainy day was sad. They are well located but it is hard to see they are there. I don’t know but I felt something missing to make this a 5 ⭐️ place.

Legitimately the best katsu curry and kaarage I've ever had. The sashimi was good, but the only item not worth the cost.

Great food, great ambiance. The service is quick and the plate arrive one after the other as soon as they're ready. I recommend ordering multiple dishes and sharing them.

Hono Izakaya is like an oasis of fine dining just outside the center of Quebec (you would miss it if you stuck to the tourist track.) You can feel the love in each dish; meats that melt in the mouth, delicate and complex broths, enchanting presentations, and reasonably priced! The servers are well versed in the cuisine and take the time to make sure that every guest is fully satiated. This is a restaurant you won’t forget.

Amazing little spot. It is (as many said) quite noisy, but if you have the chance to be seated next to the kitchen, quite comfortable noise level. The only downside is sitting right by the restroom. Otherwise very tasty food. Everything tasted fresh, not too expensive for the size of each plate. 90$ for two, 5 small plates and 4 pints of Sapporo is very reasonable. Many vegetarian options as well. Our waiter was very kind and friendly, food is served when ready, so it's always really warm. Loved the fact that plates are brought up one by one in no particular order. We were there for quite some time and had a really fun night. 10/10 will go again to try something else on the menu.

Cute and Good food, but very noisy it's difficult to have a conversation

Came here for dinner last night.. delicious. Very short wait & the staff was very communicative about the whole menu because they were out of English menus. Get the chicken skins, the slaw salad & the wagyu beef & the avocado margarita. Ambiance great, service great. Overall great!!

The food is really delicious! It’s nice to take 4-5 things and share! It’s expensive but it’s worth it. The waiters are nice and all work together. The place is a bit small and the tables for two are fairly small, but everything is good. Loud ambiance but nice music.

Excellent Japanese style pub with good food. The yakitori are amazing, and the entrée and desert delicious.The only downside would be the noise, since the place is small and full, it can be hard to talk.Definitely a must go place, and unique in Quebec city.

A neat little place, definitely was packed when we went and where only able to sit at the bar. but the washrooms where clean and had a coat area ♡only down side was that due to the numbers people held doors open that cause a draft. Artisanal foods priced, accordingly and tasted great. Unfortunately was more than my budget, but would definitely go again.

I've been to the most of popular and well-rated restaurants in Quebec City and have been disappointed so much, so my expectation on this place was pretty low. HOWEVER, the food was stunning!! And let me tell you, their food is not like traditional Japanese food. They made their own kind and every bite was just out-of-this-world amazing. We ordered chicken karage, 3 different Yakitori, Udon, curry with pork cutlets, and Mochi dessert with a bottle of sake and beers. I wish I had more rooms left to eat more dish. The service was phenomenal. The server(his name was Patrick) was very knowledgeable and attentive to every table. His good english was very helpful to communicate with. We were lucky to get to come in as one of the earliest customers. As soon as we got in, the line formed up and by the time we left, there were at least 6 teams waiting in queue. I highly recommend to come in earlier than its opening hour.

Great food with insane list of Japanese whiskey

It was very loud when we arrived; we could barely hear each other talk. We also didn't get any oshibori to clean our hands, even though it's a Japanese restaurant. The service felt rushed, but the food was good.

Atmosphere is very good and the service is excellent. Very nice place to check out if you are with a small group of friends or you want to a few different things by yourself.

Authentic Japanese Izakaya (Japanese Pub). It's like being in Japan for a great quality meal. The freshness and tastes are definitely at the rendezvous. The hole place is originally decorated entirely with 2x4 wood pieces. The staff is friendly and knows the menu well. A very good place for tasty bites and drinks. Very easy to share menu (actually I suggest sharing everything) This is not a tourist trap !

Great dining experience. We were told we need to visit this restaurant when in Quebec City and it was worth it. The vibe is really cool and trendy, super aesthetically pleasing and the music was very good! Service is great, super personable, friendly waiters who give honest suggestions! The food was delicious and kind of a Japanese fusion, reasonable portion for the price. I would definitely come back and recommend.

No reservations so one has to queue, and since there is not much space sometimes you have to squeeze in between some other guests - but the tasty food and the wonderful drinks are worth it! The quality of the food is just amazing: try the quail eggs as a starter: out of this world... Then taste the delicious salmon skewers, the super-tender chicken, the beef tataki: simply amazing! The service is nice and super efficient, the atmosphere is loud and full of fun. We loved this place.

Very authentic Japanese izakaya feel. The hot towels was a nice touch. And the food is amazing.

Food was really good. When we were going there we did not find it at first since the restaurant's front is discreet. Place is small and a little noisy when there are a lot of people. Staff was nice and food was served few minutes after we ordered. I'll go again for sure.
